Telegram’s Durov Warns Of Irreparable Decline in France
The founder of Telegram, Pavel Durov, warned that France could undergo a collapse of society if it continues to lower its current political trajectory and regulatory policies during an interview on Wednesday.
“Emmanuel Macron does not make the right choices. I am very disappointed. France becomes lower and weaker,” said Durov in an extract translated from an interview with French Outlet Le Point. Durov added:
“If you raise one or two generations with a certain state of mind, it takes decades to change it. If we continue to waste time, the risk increases that the country will have to undergo very extreme changes.
When we delay the necessary reforms for too long, we end up suffering a collapse, “continued the founder of the Telegram, warning that France lost talents against other jurisdictions like Dubai.
In early June, Durov appeared for an interview with Tucker Carlson, while the founder of the Telegram continued his media campaign after his arrest in August 2024 in France.
The arrest has led to a large condemnation of the cryptographic community, civil rights activists and human rights foundations, which continue to monitor the case of Durov and its implications for freedom of expression, self -expression and political opinion in the digital era.

Durov said Nicolas Lerner, the head of the French intelligence services, had approached him at the Hôtel de Crillon and asked to censor the content of the platform, a request that he declared to have denied.
Durov has argued that laws like the European Union digital services are a Trojan horse for masked censorship as consumer regulations and vehicles to combat disinformation or promotion of online security.
“These laws are dangerous because they can be used against those who have created them. Today, they target the theorists of the conspiracy labeled. Tomorrow, they can target their authors,” Durov said in the interview.
