The first time I left the incredible village of Ovim in a city, it was to represent my beloved Alma Mater, my Ovim Secondary Technical School and the State of Abia, in a junior engineers (junior engineers, technicians and scientists) at the Federal Government College Okigwe. We had come first to Abia’s state, but the FGC Okigwe team was well in advance on us and defeated us.
But by donating, after being taken to an Okigwe supermarket to obtain a donut (the first time in a supermarket), my chemistry teacher, Mr. Udeagu JR, explained the essence of the experience and the goal of construction for the future. He challenged us to see what our peers have known and why we have to make more efforts. The unparalleled students of FGC Okigwe, Isiodu and Arinze (I chose their names in their badges) left impressions, reminding me that even if Waec was a year to come for me, some students were already ready. I made changes and I became better!
Young people, this type of intellectual and academic commitment is back. Yes, the government of the state of Abia has something for young people aged 16 to 20. Abia Leadership Academy is an initiative of His Excellency, Dr. Alex Chioma Otti, OFR, Executive Governor of the State of Abia, to prepare young abiens for leadership requests in a rapidly evolving world.
