AlphaCapital Group has established Alpha Prime, a new prop trading company that willoffer selected traders the opportunity to transition from simulation to livemarket trading with institutional resources, Finance Magnates has learned.

TheLondon-based venture represents an expansion for Alpha Capital Group, which hasoperated in trading education and simulated trading since 2021. 10 Traders Under theLeadership of James Johnson
Alpha Primewill be led by James Johnson, who brings 30 years of experience managingtrading desks for funds. The company plans to initially onboard 10 traders,with intentions to expand by identifying promising talent from its existinguser base.

The newventure will be primarily focused on futures and derivatives trading, whilealso offering facilities for forex and CFD trading. Traders will receive directmarket access to global exchanges through professional trading infrastructure.
This movefollows a very successful 2024 for the company, duringwhich it claims to have paid out $80 million to its clients.
Selection and RiskFramework
Alpha Primewill identify potential traders through analysis of performance data fromexisting Alpha Capital Group platforms, which engage over 100,000 monthlyactive traders.
“Onechallenge that traditional proprietary trading firms have faced is sourcingtalented traders. We now have access to hundreds of thousands of traderstrading various instruments regularly,” added Andrew Blaylock, Director atAlpha Capital Group.
Riskmanagement protocols include around-the-clock monitoring by risk managers usingboth manual and automated systems to ensure adherence to risk parameters.
Monthly Salary, TradingStrategies and Regulation
Alpha Primeoffers selected traders a package that includes a monthly salary in addition toperformance-based earnings, scalable capital allocation, multi-asset classaccess, and mentoring.
“Wehave been planning this project since the inception of Alpha Capital Group backin 2021,” Blaylock noted. “We now feel the time is right to proceedwith Alpha Prime.”
The companyaccommodates various trading approaches but indicates a preference forrules-based strategies. In-house quantitative analysts can help tradersbacktest their strategies over five-year historical periods.
“We supportall types of trading activity and are particularly in favour of morerules-based and emotion-free strategies, which tend to be more successful,” Kohler told FinanceMagnates.com.
Alpha Primeis self-funded as part of the Alpha Group of companies and currently operatesunder regulatory exemptions.
