Apple AirTags: How Do They Work?

Apple AirTags use Bluetooth technology. The AirTag sends out a signal. Nearby Apple devices pick up this signal. They send the AirTag’s location to iCloud. 

The AirTag owner can then see this location in the Find My app. This app is an Apple device finder which also locates other Apple devices.

If the AirTag is closed, the app shows a precise location. It uses Ultra-Wideband (UWB) technology. This works with iPhone 11 or newer models. It helps guide the user directly to the item.

When the is far away, the Find My network helps. Over 1.5 billion Apple devices can help locate AirTags worldwide. All data is kept private and secure.
