For a very long time, Apple did not work on the mantra of the first engine advantage, the advantages of a company by being the first to introduce a new product or a new market. Before the iPhone, we had blackberry. Before the iPod, we had Sony Walkman. Before Apple Watch, there was pepple. But in all these categories, Apple won. Because Apple is unequaled in understanding the breaches of competitors and the scale of large products.
Thus, when Apple enters a category, it improves everything that is there, on the scale and possession of the category. In other words, Apple is the grand master of the advantage of the first scouring, the competitive advantage acquired by the company which reaches the highest level of scale and market domination in a specific category.
But there is a category that Apple’s game book may not work if you wait a long time to start. It is the AI sector where Apple is well behind leaders like Openai, Google and Microsoft. But it seems that the company has obtained the memo and wants to win, and there is an asset which offered Apple a penalty at the time of the injury of the competition of market football: “Apple would be in the first internal talks of the acquisition of the AI perplexity – a wider and more and more urgent artificial intelligence.”.
