Bankera founders used ICO funds on global property buys: Report
The founders of the Crypto Fintech Bankera firm have used funds from the initial 2018 coins offer of the project to buy luxury properties worldwide, according to a report by the project to declare organized crime and corruption.
The OCCRP reported on April 28, quoting the company of the company disclosed and the banking declarations, according to which almost half of the funds of 100 million euros in Bankera ($ 114 million) ICO were transferred to a bank in the insular country of the Pacific of Vanuatu, bought by the founders of the project, Vytatas Karalevičius, Justas dobiliauskas and mantas Mockevioin.
Shortly after, Banque Vanuatu would have started to issue millions of euros in loans to companies belonging to the trio to build a luxury real estate portfolio – including a villa in the French Riviera and a high -end property in Lithuania, where the project was founded.
The disclosed files and declarations would have shown that funds have been used to take out loans to other companies, which were then used to buy high -end real estate.
Banque Vanuatu has also lent millions more directly to the three founders for “personal use”, according to the OCCRP report.
The lawyers representing the founders would have denied that ICO was fraudulent but refused to comment on specific transactions.
Cointelegraph contacted Bankera to comment but did not receive an immediate response.
Bankera too promised, sub-distributed
Bankera is committed to becoming the “Bank of the Blockchain era”, offering a series of retail and institutional investment investment services while holding and exchanging most of the largest cryptocurrencies.
Many investors have been attracted to ICO Token Bankera (BNK) by the promise of reduced prices on Bankera services and products, as well as the possibility of winning weekly BNK payments.
However, an investor of the ICO of Bankera told the OCCRP that these weekly payments had started to “lower considerably below the promised amount”.
The income sharing program would have been interrupted in 2022.

Bankera continues to provide banking services related to crypto and maintains an active presence on social networks on LinkedIn and, to a lesser extent, X.
