Blockchain Investigator Finds 2.7B XRP in Dormant Wallets Linked to Ripple Co-Founder

The engineer of the Zachxbt blockchain sparked alarms on the sleeping XRP addresses linked to the co-founder of Oppple Chris Larsen. These addresses, which have been inactive for six to seven years, suddenly brought together in January 2025, transferring more than $ 109 million from XRP to trade. With XRP currently estimated at $ 2.60, portfolios still have 2.7 billion XRP, worth $ 7.18 billion.
The XRP assets of Larsen have long been speculation. At the beginning of 2024, it was reported that Larsen had lost access to 213 million XRP, estimated at around $ 112 million, due to hacking. Despite this, the dormant addresses remaining linked to him continue to contain a massive quantity of XRP. Zachxbt’s investigation suggests that Larsen could gradually discharge these parts or perhaps lose access to them.
🚨 ZachXBT warns: XRP addresses activated by Chris Larsen (Ripple co-founder) still hold over 2.7B XRP ($7.18B). These addresses tied to him transferred more than $109M worth of XRP to exchanges in January 2025.

Some of the addresses linked to Larsen have been inactive since 2013, which has increased the possibility that it has been able to transfer or lose control of the funds during this period. This recent transfer of funds could point out that Larsen sells either its remaining reserve or move it to different wallets.
This is not the first time that Larsen’s XRP activities have raised the eyebrows. In September 2020, he moved around 500 million XRP, worth $ 115 million, in a non -disclosed portfolio, fueling new speculations on his control over these assets.
Although it is not clear if Larsen always controls these major XRP actions, recent activity has aroused concerns about the potential impact of the market. If these parts are gradually sold, this could affect the price and dynamics of the XRP market.
