Crypto Crime Supercycle Very Real ZachXBT Says
Samecoins promoted by political figures like Donald Trump, Lax regulations and crypto affairs abandoned by American regulators have launched an “crime supercycle” of the crypto, according to a pair of blockchain investigators.
Blockchain investigator Zachxbt announced Thursday that crypto was historically ripe for abuse, but this has “significantly increased since the launch of politicians and many judicial cases have been abandoned, allowing more behavior”.
He said that cryptographic influencers and the main opinion leaders are faced with “zero repercussions” to scam their supporters.
“That said, there has never been a worst time to make black hat, phishing, social engineering, flight flights, compared to the activity of the gray hat when the current environment is favorable,” added Zachxbt.
Slow regulation plays a factor
According to Zachxbt, a lack of regulation, reducing projects that have not disclosed paid advertisements and other similar behaviors have contributed to the so-called supercycle.
“If they had spent time regulating it instead of continuing open source developers or decentralized protocols from Blue Chip, this only prevails because there has never been any repercussions,” he said.
More than 2 billion dollars were lost in cryptographic hacks in the first quarter of 2025, with phishing scams representing $ 96 million, and RAP draws more than $ 300 million, said the Hacken cybersecurity company in its April report, shared with Cintelegraph.
Change unlikely while criminals earn money
Blockchain’s detective Taylor Monahan also sounded, saying that the crooks operating in space probably do not change when they are always rewarded with great profits.
“No social, financial or legal disadvantages or friction around this type of behavior. The second is simply so easy and there is so much time [money] On the table for that, ”said Monahan.
Monahan thinks that cryptographic space is in a “difficult point” because it keeps too many pirates and fraudsters.
“Most have been mainly in the last two cycles, for example, romantic scams, [North Korea]Malware as a service. Ransomware would be the greatest losers if the crypto stopped existing tomorrow, “said Monahan.

The law catches up some crooks
There are crooks in cryptographic space in the face of the law for their crimes. In a Wednesday opinion, officials of the US Ministry of Justice announced the seizure by secret services of more than $ 225 million linked to cryptographic investment scams.
In May, a New Zealand man was arrested as part of a global cryptographic fraud operation which would have stolen $ 450 million in New Zealand ($ 265 million).
