Czech Bitcoin Scandal Spirals Into No-Confidence Vote

On Thursday, the main opposition party of the Czech Republic called for a vote without confidence in the government, accusing it of corruption on a bitcoin payment of $ 45 million in a convicted criminal.

The Czech justice ministry said on May 28 that it had sold nearly 500 bitcoin (BTC) for 1 billion Czech Koruna ($ 45 million) during an auction after having received it from Tomas Jirikovsky, which organized an online black market and was found guilty of embezzlement, drug trafficking and violations of arms in 2017.
