Elon Musk To Retrain Grok AI To ‘Rewrite’ Human Knowledge
Elon Musk says that his artificial intelligence company XAI will recycle his AI, Grok model, on a new knowledge base without “garbage” and “unlikely data” – by using them first to rewrite history.
In a post X on Saturday, Musk said that the next Grok 3.5 model will have an “advanced reasoning” and wanted it to be used “to rewrite the whole corpus of human knowledge, the addition of missing information and the deletion of errors”.
He declared that the model would then recycle on the new set of knowledge, saying that there was “far too much waste in any foundation model formed on unlikely data”.
Musk’s latest fight against “Woke”
Musk has long said that rival models of AI, such as Openai Chatgpt, a company he has co -founded, is biased and omit information that is not politically correct.
For years, Musk has sought to shape the products to be free of what he considers as a politically correct and aimed to make grok what he calls “anti-alarm”.
He also relaxed Twitter’s content and Twitter disinformation moderation when he took over in 2022, which saw the flooded platform of uncontrolled conspiracy theories, extremist content and false news, some of which were distributed by Musk himself.
Musk was aimed at fighting the wave of disinformation by implementing a “community notes” functionality, allowing XySystifying users or adding a context to publications that are well displayed under offensive publications.
Criticism was upgraded when recycling grok
Musk’s post attracted the condemnation of his criticisms, notably Gary Marcus, founder of AI startup and professor emeritus of neuronal science at New York University who compared the billionaire plan to dystopia.
“Right out of 1984,” wrote Marcus on X. “You cannot make Grok align with your own personal beliefs so that you would go and rewrite history to comply with your opinions.”
Bernardino Sassoli of ‘Bianchi, professor of logic and philosophy of sciences at the University of Milan, wrote on LinkedIn that he was “as far as a loss of words to comment on the dangerous” of the Musk plan.

“When powerful billionaires treat history as malleable simply because the results do not align with their beliefs, we no longer face innovation-we are faced with narrative control,” he added. “The rewriting of training data to match the ideology is wrong at all imaginable levels.”
Musk’s call to “facts” brings conspiracy theories, lies
As part of his efforts to revise Grok, Musk called X users to share “division facts” to form the bot, specifying that they should be “politically incorrect, but nevertheless true.
The responses have seen a variety of conspiracy theories and demystified extremist claims, including the distortion of the holocaust, the disinformation of demystified vaccines, racist pseudoscientific allegations concerning intelligence and the denial of climate change.
