Exclusive: Louis DeJoy Resigns as Postmaster General

LOuis Dejoy resigned from his role as general postal postal service master, according to a source familiar with the issue. On Monday, he told the Board of Directors of the USPS that it would be his last day of work. He appointed Deputy Post Office Doug Tulino to take over until the council appoints a permanent replacement.

Dejoy’s departure comes from weeks after concluding an agreement to allow the Elon Musk government ministry to help the agency reduce costs and eliminate bureaucratic administrative formalities. Last month, he told the Board of Directors to start looking for a successor, ending a five-year mandate performing the agency through the COVID-19 pandemic, three elections that were based strongly on mail vote and the implementation of a dramatic restructuring.
