Fans Rage as ‘The Recruit’ Gets Axed

The “The Night Agent” and “The Recruit” created a difficult landscape for both series. While “The Night Agent” quickly captured a large audience and obtained a second season renewal, “La Recruit” had trouble reaching the same level of traction. Industry analysts highlight tight release dates as an important factor, leading to the public confusion and potentially to the audience division.

As a frustrated spectator expressed him on X (formerly Twitter), “they published this and the night agent in the same month. What were they expecting?” This feeling was taken up by another spectator who admitted: “I continued to confuse this program for the night agent every time I saw news, so maybe he was intended to be ax.” Essentially, the two shows, while in the same genre, were forced to compete for the attention, and the already established popularity of “the night agent” gave him a clear advantage. Consequently, while “the night agent” maintained a solid audience, the “recruit” would have experienced lower numbers, placing it in a disadvantage in matters of renewal of decisions. Fans, however, argue that if “the recruit” had received more space to breathe, he could have cultivated a dedicated audience.
