FTMO’s OANDA Adds 350+ ETFs to European Investment Platform ⋅ Crypto World Echo
OANDA, a providerof online multi-asset trading services, has broadened its European investmentportfolio by introducing Exchange-Traded Funds (ETFs) for its clients, thecompany announced this week.
The new ETFoffering grants OANDA clients across the European Union access to more than 350ETFs, covering a diverse range of international sectors, commodities, andindices. According to OANDA, this move is aimed at helping investors diversifyportfolios more efficiently, offering an alternative to purchasing individualassets or traditional funds.
OANDA’s newplatform set-up offers the first 10 ETF trades each month commission-free, upto a turnover of 100,000 euros. After this limit is reached, transactions incura minimum commission of 0.1% or 1 EUR.
“Theintroduction of ETFs to our offering is another step towards providinginvestors with a full spectrum of modern and effective tools for building adiversified portfolio,” said Marcin Niewiadomski, Managing Director for Europeat OANDA.
“ETFs arethe most popular instrument for passive investing and an alternative, cheapersolution compared to standard investment funds. This way, we offer our clientsaccess to global markets in a simple and cost-effective manner.”
OANDA hasintroduced its first major product update since its widely publicizedacquisition by proprietary trading firm FTMO nearly three months ago.
Prop Firm Acquires CFDBroker
In earlyFebruary, FinanceMagnates.com reported that CVC Asia Fund IV had agreed to sellOANDA Global Corporation to the FTMO Group. In 2018, CVC Partners Asia Fund hadacquired a 98.5% stake in OANDA for $160 million, valuing the broker atapproximately $175 million based on the prior year’s $35 million EBITA.
FTMO reported cash holdings of more than CZK 1.94 billion (over $81.5 million) atthe end of 2023, an increase of roughly 275% compared to the previousyear.
The propfirm has emphasized that OANDA’s proprietary trading brand, OANDA Prop Trader,will continue to operate independently. This commitment was reinforced by thelaunch of its Community + Loyalty Program.
Alongsideits new ETF access, OANDA continues to offer a portfolio of more than 4,000financial instruments, including single stocks, forex, and a variety ofContracts for Difference (CFDs). The brokerage also provides tradingopportunities in over 2,200 real stocks. For new clients, OANDA offers anincentive of up to 7% annualized interest on unused account balances for thefirst 90 days following registration, subject to existing terms and conditions.
