A hacking group with links with Russia claimed the responsibility of the massive cyber attack on X, which saw the social media platform incapable of being accessible by thousands of users, although the functionality of users was quickly restored.
Cybersecurity Group Spyosecure declared in an article from March 10 to X that the pirate group Dark Storm had made a telegram post for the attack on the denial of distributed service (DDOS), which was published by the leader of the group.

The Telegram channel has since been deleted to have violated the conditions of use of the platform. Shared screenshots shared on X show them by declaring that they “took offline Twitter”, in parallel with a screenshot of missed connection attempts from various world locations.
Ed Krassenstein, social media personality and co-founder of NFT Marketplace Nftz.me, said in an article from March 10 to X that he had also investigated the attack and was in contact with the leader of Dark Storm, who again said they were behind.

The group of pro-Palestinian pirates Dark Storm has been active since 2023, has links with Russia and is known to target NATO countries.
The owner of the platform, Elon Musk, confirmed that the social media platform had been struck by a cyber attack preventing certain users from accessing the site on March 10.
He said that in an interview on March 10 with Fox Business Larry Kudlow, he had an approximate idea of the origin of the IP address of the Pirates.
