The Risk As US Moves Education Development to the States

I am a voter in one problem; I vote on educational policies. When I read Project 2025, during the American presidential election, I was concerned about the implications for education in the United States. Some of these concerns are now live: “President Donald Trump has signed a decree to launch the dismantling process of the American Department of Education. This action aims to make educational control to the states, but it requires additional approval from the congress to be fully carried out. This decision triggered a debate on the implications for federal surveillance of education, the autonomy of states and potential devices in the end of education. ”.

President Donald Trump made a decisive step in pressure from his administration to reduce public spending on Thursday, by signing an executive decree to dismantle the Ministry of Education.

This decision, champion long of the Conservatives, is one of Trump’s wider campaign to reduce federal bureaucracy, a strategy led by the Ministry of Government (DOGE), which is supervised by billionaire Elon Musk.

Flanked by schoolchildren sitting in offices in the eastern room of the White House, Trump said: “We are going to eliminate it, and everyone knows it’s true. States will resume education, as it should be. ”

For me, education is not a local problem because the release of the mind is conceptually universal. The idea that the displacement of education in the state will advance the nation is defective because a model of disparate education cannot bring a coherent framework for national economic acceleration. The UTAH model, the Alabama model, the Maryland model, etc. may not be optimal because education requires a national roadmap!

In the United States, basic education is largely funded by local real estate tax, which means that the place where you live determines the quality of your education. A rich child who lives in a rich district will frequent a better school compared to a poor child who lives in a place with a minimum of tax revenue on real estate. So, just like that, communities see shortcomings in success because young people are set up following their place of residence, because learning opportunities are not universal.

If you delete the federal factor, I expect this game book to accelerate since inequality will widen. Yes, without federal support, these sub-performative communities could be forgotten! The involvement is that in 20 years, large America will become more economically unequal.

(If Nigeria does what the American government plans to do, most schools in the villages will fall back because the government largely obtains zero taxes of rural communities. Today, the federal of Nigeria finances certain basic components of our basic education, by ensuring that each child has a chance)
