Bitcoin is still volatile, but it becomes slowly more stable. Over the past 10 years, its average annual volatility has been around 46%, which is still about five times more than gold or S&P 500. But in the past year, this figure fell to around 35%. For comparison, high -risk stocks like Tesla or have shown similar oscillations.
Altcoins, however, continue to be much more risky. Ethereum short -term price oscillations are currently 30 to 50% higher than Bitcoin’s, according to matrixport data. This makes Bitcoin a more stable choice in the world of cryptography, even if it is still not as calm as traditional investments.
