The leaders of Los Angeles are trying to regain control of the city which has now been marked by the protest and the control of the federal troops. Mayor Karen Bass put a curfew in place for part of downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday. This came when Bass declared a local emergency following the climbing of demonstrations in the city.
“The curfew remains in force this evening … so that the city center of Los Angeles prevents the bad actors who take advantage of the chaotic climbing of the president,” said Bass via an update of social media on Wednesday evening. “If you do not live or do not work in the city center, avoid the region and follow the councils of the police.”
“Vandalism and violence will not be tolerated,” she said.
More than 350 people have been arrested in Los Angeles since the demonstrations on Friday. While journalists on the ground say that many demonstrations that have occurred have been peaceful, others went down into violence.

The city is now preparing for the arrival of the Marines, deployed by the American Secretary of Defense, Pete Hegseth, who is likely to arrive in the street by Friday, and would be authorized to hold any person who interferes with immigration agents during raids or demonstrators who will face federal agents.
Marines in active service are expected to reach around 2,000 members of the National Guard deployed by President Donald Trump. He notably federally federally officials without the Governor Gavin Newsom being made by the governor, who has strongly criticized this decision.
“The army is simply not necessary. But what he [Trump] Is it to try to try to create problems, “said Newsom in a new interview on a New York Times Podcast, published Thursday, adding that the arrival of the National Guard flared tensions between the authorities and the demonstrators. “We had to defend the National Guard. The Radius curfew of a mile covers part of the city center of Los Angeles. Some parts of the Chinese district, Little Tokyo, the fashion district and the Arts district are inside or near the limits of the curfew.

How long should the Los Angeles curfew last?
Depending on the initial opinion of Bass, the order will be true until the local emergency declaration is terminated, which remains in force on June 12.
Bass said at a press conference with other local leaders on Wednesday that the curfew’s stay will probably depend on the duration of ice raids in the city.
“The declaration of emergency that I signed yesterday has no time limit, and therefore the fire covers last as long as they are necessary,” said Bass. “But, it is really a little interdependent on the response on the federal side. If there are raids that continue, if there are soldiers walking in our street, I imagine that the curfew will continue.”
Bass also said that there were more than a hundred arrests on the first night of the curfew, but not for looting or violent accusations, just for “non-depersion and violation of the curfew”.
