Paul Atkins, nominated by Trump, has been sworn in as SEC chair

Paul Atkins officially sworn as 34th President of Securities and Exchange Commission.

The announcement of April 21 occurs almost two weeks after the Atkins post was confirmed by the US Senate during a vote of 52-44 on April 9.

“I am honored by the confidence and the confidence that President Trump and the Senate have placed me to direct the dry,” Atkins said in a statement.

Atkins should lead a more friendly dry of the crypto than former president Gary Gensler under the Biden administration.

He previously was SEC Commissioner between 2002 and 2008.
