THis second season of The snow girl (Or NIEVE CHICA) arrived with the promise of intensifying the mystery and the twists and turns that have captured a faithful fans’ basis since its beginnings in 2023 on Netflix. The Spanish spectacle, based on a series of novels of the same name of Javier Castillo, was widely rented for its high mixture of your dark, complex characters and the intrigue filled with suspense. The story revolves around Miren Rojo (Milena Smit), an intrepid journalist who is involved in surveys on traumatic kidnappings and sexual assaults that challenge her both emotionally and physically, discovering secrets that connect the past and the present in a terrifying way.
The second season passes the tense atmosphere of the series and the winding scenario at the higher level, with more enigmatic threats and a psychological game with devastating consequences. The first episode of the new season presents the disappearance of several young people as well as mysterious figures manipulating the fate of the people involved. For Miren, the border between justice and revenge begins to blur dangerously.

The game begins
The season begins with a mysterious letter which puts Miren in a new mission. She tries to link the murder of a teenager, Allison Hernández, to a disappearance that occurred almost a decade ago, involving a victim named Laura Valdivia. The two girls were exemplary students from the same school, Los Arcos Málaga. The mystery deepens when revealed that the school could be linked to events – a line that can lead to the director.
A significant index occurs when the “soul game”, mentioned in the title of the season, is presented. Before his death, Allison participated in this fatal game, in which a simple courage test, like crossing the railroads, could have fatal consequences.
In the second episode, the death of Eduardo Vergara, Miren’s mentor and an important figure in the newspaper where she works, on, presents a touch to the plot. The death of Eduardo, allegedly of a heart attack, lets a distraught miren wondering if it has the strength to continue the investigation.
The soul game
The search for truth leads to another enigmatic note and the “Soul Game” website, challenging it to play. She accepts the challenge, thinking that this will help him find answers, but with each new test, the game becomes more personal and dangerous. As the episodes progress, Miren finds himself in a race against time to discover the mystery of Laura’s disappearance. With each new index, the journalist realizes the awareness that Laura had hidden something.
In parallel, the story of Borja Pineda, one of the students of Los Arcos, is revealed. He suffered an accident after being challenged by the “crow’s crow”, as the owner of the game calls him. Although he survived, the scars on his face show how far young people play this game will belong to some part. In one of the most intense moments of the season, the game forces Miren to review the heartbreaking memories of the worst night of his life – the night of his own assault.

Laura and Los Arcos
In the third episode, Jaime, a new journalist at Sur, meets a witness of the last day that Laura was seen. A florist claims to have seen the girl with a sad look, just before she was taken by a car, suggesting that she could have left with someone she knew.
While Miren gets closer to the truth, the team discovers that Laura had been involved with an older man, Alberto Mendoza, who took him that day, called The Green House.
We also learn the story of the director of the Andrés Garrido school, who turns out to have been the creator of The Soul Game and the leader of the religious group “The Crows of God”, founded while he was still a student in Los Arcos In 1983. In the development of the game, group members used the Bible to choose the tests. One of the first victims was Alicia Martos, a young girl who died during one of these tests, and whose death was covered by the powerful families of responsible students.
Nacho and Borja
Nacho and Borja are presented in this season like two secondary boys who do not know each other, but share something in common – the Game Soul.
Nacho is Laura’s younger brother, the previous victim whose story Miren continued to help him find answers on Allison. The parents of Laura and Nacho died in a house fire and they were raised by their uncles. One day, Nacho follows Miren at home and tells him that he wants to help him go to the root of Laura’s disappearance, so she invites her. Together, they communicate online with the crow from God, who asks Miren to burn something important for her – her warehouse “Lost Girls”, a room full of reports on various missing girls, which she had previously suspected was linked to a group called The Slide Organization, notorious to kidnap young women and film their rapes and then sell the images.
However, when Miren decides to report everything to the police and stops playing the game, Nacho reveals who he really is: the Crow of God, the new owner of the Game Soul. Garrido had abandoned the post after the death of Alicia, but the rumors had lingered in the corridors of the school about the game, and Nacho had invigorated him. He had had an accomplice – the lonely borja, whose link with Nacho brings him a goal and a camaraderie – like the crow from God to try to deceive Miren. The death of Allison? He assumes responsibility, claiming that he had killed her by compassion, according to a religious belief that the cleaning of sin by death would bring her closer to God. Nacho’s resentment against Miren, takes her to embark on this dangerous game: that she had not worked harder to find her beloved older sister faster. And it turns out that Nacho who was at the origin of the death of his beloved mentor.
With Borja, Nacho kidnaps Miren and writes the journalist, who must undergo a final test: endurance. But Borja no longer wants to participate, which leads Nacho to kill him. Miren tries to deceive Nacho and escape but is taken on a beach neighboring by the boy, who stabs her. In an unexpected turn, Miren stabs Nacho back, using the knife he left on the ground next to her. They were lying side by side, bloody and unconscious.
Millán and Chaparro, the police who have been working with Miren since the first season, arrive on the scene after obtaining a mandate to locate Borja’s phone, suspected of having lied to them about the Soul game. By finding Miren nearby, they declare Nacho dead. Fortunately, Miren is alive.
What happens to Miren?
In the last episode, we learn that Laura was in fact alive all this time. A year after the death of her brother, Laura admits to Jaime that she had fled to be with Alberto Mendoza, whom she fell pregnant in adolescence.
She did not consider herself as a victim and just wanted to live her life with the man she loved and their child. His decision to leave stems from his fear of his uncle’s disapproval of his relationship with a much older man.
Laura tried to find Miren to apologize for what Nacho had done to her, but finally realized that Miren had abandoned journalism and disappeared. No one knows where she is. Jaime investigation but does not find it, only messages from various people questioning the journalist.
In the end, the police made a descent into an installation used as a base for the organization of slides. There, they find several rape recordings, including one from 2009 which represents the assault of Miren. We will have to wait and see if Netflix renews the show for a third season to find out what has become of it.
