Polygon is ready to deploy its most complex fork to date on Thursday, improving its blockchain of proof of bet with a new layer of consensus nicknamed Heimdall 2.0.
In a post X, the CEO of the Polygon Foundation, Sandeep Nailwal, said that the upgrade improved the spine of the blockchain of proof of (POS) of Polygon. It will replace the inherited components dating from 2018 and 2019 with a more recent infrastructure.
“This is the most complex hard -for -for -fork Polygone POS with the most complex for its launch in 2020,” wrote Nailwal, adding that it will improve the purpose of the network and modability of the network.
The new update will reduce the finality of the blockchain to around five seconds and minimize the chances of reorganization of the chain beyond two blocks. This will allow the network to be more stable and the bridges are more secure.

Nailwal also declared that migration marked a step towards the shipment of faster control points and the construction of the space for future upgrades. While most of the validators have upgraded before the deadline, the CEO of the Polygon Foundation urged the node operators performing older versions to prepare immediately.
“Let us make this the most fluid upgrade to date. Most validators have already upgraded, but in case you have not yet done it, test early, passing the word and scathing us if you hit the clashes,” wrote Nailwal. The upgrade will last 30 minutes on the Mainnet, with scripts and runbooks already available.
Nailwal also asked the community to prepare for temporary instability and to be careful while the system improves its main consensus engine.
He said Heimdall’s purpose will be temporarily late for about three hours. This means that during the upgrade process on Thursday, the POS channel’s ability to finalize the blocks will stop or slow up to three hours.

The upgrade follows a change in the leadership structure of the Polygon Foundation, from decentralized governance to the co-founder of Polygon, Sandeep Nailwal, suppose a complete control of frames.
On June 11, Nailwal took total control of the Foundation as the first CEO. The Foundation, which oversees Polygon’s laboratories, now operates under the leadership of Nailwal, refocusing its efforts as competition becomes more fierce in the space of layer 2.
Nailwal previously said that it was Polygon time to move faster and more aggressively with a complete conviction and concentration.
