Robinhood Acquires Bitstamp for $200M, Gains 50+ Global Crypto Licenses

Since its creation in 2011, Bitstamp, based in Luxembourg, has acquired a reputation for compliance with regulations. Offering more than 50 active and registration licenses worldwide, Bitstamp allows Robinhood to benefit from rapid access to areas such as Europe, the United Kingdom and Asia. Currently, welcomes around 5,000 companies and 50,000 people, institutions representing a large part of their exchange.
The acquisition allows Robinhood to develop its presence far beyond its main American market. Robinhood began to integrate the Bitstamp infrastructure in its own platforms, including the Legend police custody and the intelligent exchange routing engine. The company plans to spend about $ 65 million on Bitstamp expenses for the rest of 2025. In the past 12 months, Bitstamp has generated $ 95 million in income, demonstrating the value of its institutional activities.
