Romania Postal Service Installs Bitcoin ATMs in Branches

Poșta Română, the National Postal Service of Romania, installed its first ATM Bitcoin in a branch in the city of Tulcea, in partnership with the Bitcoin Romania exchange (BTR).

According to an announcement of the postal service, the next locations to receive ATMs with Bitcoin (BTC) tickets will be in Alexandria, Piatra Neamț, Botoșani and Nădlac.

ATMs are part of a wider survivor for revision of the existing infrastructure with digital technology and to extend service offers to poorly served areas in the country.

Automatic Bitcoin distributors located in the national locations of the post office reflect the growing acceptance of cryptocurrencies by legislators, national governments and public institutions, which meet the growing demand for digital assets.

The adoption of bitcoin is warming up, but the total addressable market remains low

The adoption of Bitcoin increases regularly thanks to the individual adoption of investors, to companies accepting the BTC as payment, companies or institutions accumulating the BTC as an asset of the Treasury and the nation states buying BTC for national strategic reserves.

In January, Crypto Exchange Binance said that the number of BTC portfolios holding more than $ 100 in value had increased to almost 30 million. This marked an increase of 25% in annual slip.

Despite this growing trend, the overall adoption of Bitcoin remains low in the world, even in countries with the highest adoption rates.

A River T1 2025 report, a Bitcoin financial service company, revealed that only 4% of the world’s population held the BTC, with the highest concentration of Bitcoin holders living in the United States.
