France arrests over 12 suspects linked to crypto kidnappings: Report

The French authorities have arrested more than 12 people linked to two cases of high -level cryptography removal in Paris, France, report local media.

Arrested people include several minors, with charges against them, including kidnapping, kidnapping attempt and criminal plot, the Parisian reported on May 26.

French investigators explore the possibility that a criminal organization is behind two recent kidnapping cases, social media networks being used for recruitment.

In a recent attempt at alleged kidnapping on May 13, three men tried to seize the daughter and grandson of Pierre Noizat, co-founder and CEO of French Crypto Exchange Paymium, on Broad Daylight in Paris.

This attempt, which passers -by captured on video show that the alleged attempt was thwarted while the daughter of Noizat retaliated and the passers -by intervened.

In another case earlier in May, the French authorities saved the father of a cryptographic marketing entrepreneur who was kidnapped and detained for a ransom between 5 and 7 million euros.

The Parisian reported that the authorities had not yet made any arrest concerning the alleged slim of the family of Noizat, but up to six people would have been linked to the removal of the father of the Crypto entrepreneur were identified and imprisoned, including the alleged abductions themselves.

Earlier this year, the co-founder of the Crypto equipment portfolio manufacturer, David Balland, was kidnapped from his home with the authors who allegedly demanding the crypto. Balland was then rescued by French police a few days later.

Reinforced security measures

French Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau increased security measures for cryptographic entrepreneurs and family members living in France earlier this month after the high-level series of attacks.

A Github page created by Jameson Lopp, a Cyplerpunk and co-founder of the Casa self-mockery company, indicates that six criminal activity incidents requiring a ransom of crypto have taken place in France so far this year, with half of the incidents in Paris.

In addition, industry leaders strengthen their security by hiring professional guards in order to dissuade malicious actors.
