Ripple Sounds Alarm on YouTube Scams After Crypto Price Spike

Fraudsters and crooks take advantage of the recent cryptocurrency cryptography to improve their attacks on the cryptographic community, warns the CEO of Ripple Brad Garlinghouse.

Garlinghouse said in a statement published on Wednesday that the wider market rally had prompted crooks to pretend to be the official ripple YouTube and potentially con CON.

The losses against cryptographic scams struck a new record of $ 2.1 billion in the first half of 2025, breaking the previous record set in 2022 dollars and almost equal to the total of 2024 losses.

XRP (XRP) increased to $ 3.66 on July 18, according to Nansen, approaching the summit of $ 3.84 in 2018 from token on Coinbase. Analysts also predict more increase, despite a price retirement of 10% to $ 3.19 in the last 24 hours.

At the same time, Bitcoin (BTC) recorded a gain of more than 7% in the last 14 days and is negotiated at more than $ 119,000 per room. Ether (ETH) has increased by more than 31% in the last 14 days and changes hands for $ 3,644 per token.

“Like Clockwork, with success and market rallies, the crooks accelerate their attacks on the cryptographic community – please wipe out the last scam targeting the XRP family on YouTube and imitating the official Ripple account!” said Garlinghouse.

“We will continue to report them-please do the same. As always, if it seems too good to be true, this is probably the case,” he added.

Arnquettes flying accounts

The official Ripple account on X said that the bad players do it by pending YouTube accounts and updating the page to usurp the identity of the Official Ripple account.

“Reminder: Ripple or our executives will never ask you to send us XRP,” said Ripple.

An X user under the XTINARP handle said that one of these scams was active on Tuesday and promised a free XRP gift to attract victims. He displays the video as being sponsored by Ripple.

“This one looks very convincing. The crooks use accounts with 176K of submarines to promote a false event of 100m XRP, Ripple will never lead gifts. Stay careful!” Xtinarp said.

The official Ripple account on YouTube has more than 81,000 subscribers. YouTube did not immediately respond to a request for comments.

Ripple continued Youtube on imitators before

Ripple previously continued Youtube on imitators in April 2021, asking for damage and accused the video sharing site to enjoy the crooks.

One of the drawbacks mentioned in the trial seems similar to the trick that the bad players now use, a spear-speaking attack, where the account of a user is hacked and its erased content, then sets up a mascarading like a prominent cryptocurrency figure for Shilling a free XRP gift.

However, Ripple abandoned the trial in March 2021, and Garlinghouse said at the time that the crypto and YouTube firm had resolved and had agreed to fight the scams together.

Other cryptographic companies have also been imitable on Google

Ripple is not the only cryptographic enterprise with imitators. The security company, SCAM SNIFFER, said in an X post on Monday that it had found several direct research from Google linked to cryptographic companies showing the advertisements of scam at the top of the results.

“Pro advice for users DEFI: Stop using Google Search for Crypto sites unless you liked to play Russian roulette with your wallet!” Said Scam Sniffer.

Bad players use Punycode attacks, according to Scam Sniffer, a usurpation technique that exploits how internationalized domain names are displayed in web browsers to appear similar to the real website.
