Of course, that’s a notable one, but there’s more to note, and among them, the best one is the introduction of a glass aluminium rear panel. Though, at this point, no official announcement came regarding the design of the or iPhone 17 Pro Max, leaked images of dummy units reveal that the lower half of the back panel is covered in glass. In the upper section, the camera module is framed in aluminium.
A few days back, on March 20, dummy units of the purported iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Air, and iPhone 17 Pro Max were leaked on X (formerly Twitter) by Sonny Dickson. Previously, this same leaker has posted a few images of metal iPhone 17 series dummies, but unlike them, this image gives users a more prominent look at the design changes on the .
From the Twitter image, it is clearly revealed that the camera module itself has gone through significant changes and departed from the traditional square layout. In a new transformation, the iPhone 17 Pro and Pro Max feature an elongated, oval-shaped camera bump that spans the top portion of the rear panel.
While the latest flagship models of Apple feature a rear panel made of glass, the leak suggests the iPhone 17 Pro and will feature a rear panel made of glass and aluminium. This new configuration hopefully brings more advanced imaging technologies, aligning with Apple’s commitment to leading-edge photography capabilities.
