Tenderly CTO Explains Why Developer Tools Drive Blockchains

Developers are fueling blockchain’s progress, but their difficulties are often overlooked. Sophisticated tools can make or break the progress of web3, but few focus on the infrastructure that helps teams to build safely and on a large scale. Bogdan usually, CTO and co-founder of Tenderly, knows it better than most.

Humbs beginnings during a hackathon in the management of one of the most reliable platforms in Ethereum, usually saw the little glamorous skeleton in the sector. Beincrypto caught up with Eth Belgrade 2025 to discuss the misunderstood challenges of the scale, the reality of developers’ strangulation bottlenecks and why tools, not the transaction capacity, remains the real engine of blockchain growth. In this Candide interview, the usual exhibits what many are mistaken in Ethereum’s evolution, how the developer’s experience underpins the adoption and the role of transparency and the community in the formation of the landscape of the blockchain of tomorrow.

The answer is probably much less sexy than people. The tools are inevitable in any field of engineering. We started tenderly by building the types of tools we needed ourselves, coming from web2. We were not the most intelligent or the most visionary; We were only the first to do it, and we did a job well enough for the Ethereum community to kiss us.

If it is not easy for developers to build, then what is the interest of the scale? Currently, we have an infrastructure but not enough usable applications. Without facilitating the lives of developers, we can just as well continue to wrap GPTs forever.

Challenges and realities behind the development of Ethereum DAPP

There is a massive gap between what users see and what the manufacturers deal with. Native web3 users, in particular, often do not understand how complex it is to give life to something.

You click on a button on a DAPP, and this action could involve zero knowledge of knowledge, advanced cryptography and other incredibly complex things. Products like Polymarket or Pum.fun work because they hide this complexity very well. This is the key to mass adoption: do not ensure that users care about how things work, just that they work.

Ethereum scale: opportunities and complications for manufacturers

First of all, I don’t like the term “Ethereum 2.0”, it seems that there will be a large switch, a dramatic upgrade. But Ethereum evolves, not restart.

What is real is the increase in flow. No more rollers, more channels, more experimentation. But here is the torsion: most of these additional transactions will not come from users; They will come from Rollups themselves. Rollups also become Ethereum users.

It opens cheaper and more flexible means to experiment. But this also confirms that the rolls, the application chains and all are inevitable. He does not make sense for everyone to write to the same big book forever.

Security, transparency and role of tender in the development of safer blockchain

A few years ago, when something was hacked, people used with tenderly to analyze what did not work. We used to joke that we had the biggest marketing budget in the crypto because our dashboards were in each post-mortem.

The Bybit / Safe incident at the beginning of this year was a perfect example. It was not the result of incompetence – these are large teams. But that shows how high the challenges are when everything is open and in chain.

Our goal is to provide more transparency and clarity in the development life cycle. Writing sure code is difficult, but this code must still be written. And if a tool as with tenderly someone to avoid an error that could cost millions, we have done our job.

A good example is our recent integration with Ledger. When someone uses their tactile screen portfolio, our safety engine analyzes each transaction in real time.

This helps prevent users from accidentally sign malicious contracts. But behind this simple experience is a deep technical collaboration between our teams.

This is how we see our role: not only a product, but a partner to build safer and better experiences. And most users will not even notice it. This is exactly the point.

Massively important. We were going to hackathons, build experimental features during the event and live testers. If enough people came to ask them, we ship them to the product.

You are surrounded by your users and it is the fastest possible feedback loop.

Web3 is incredibly open. Whether you are in a unicorn or costume cover, if you build something useful, there is space for you. This inclusive and creative energy is what maintains this ecosystem alive.

Global and local impacts: what to watch in the blockchain

It depends on your place of view.

If you are in a country like Serbia, blockchain can give you access to tools that traditional finance does not make, such as trade in actions, obtaining loans or the protection of inflation savings by moving in the stabbed.

If you are in a more developed country, you should always be careful. This technology finally recalls the systems in which you are already participating. Being early gives you an advantage, no matter where you are.

Final reflections

The developer’s tools are not flashy. They won’t be. But they are the foundation. Everyone is obsessed with scaling, but if it is still difficult to build, why are we on a scale?
