A bill that would allow New Hampshire to invest part of its public funds in digital assets and precious metals has evolved towards a full vote from the Senate after adopting a second committee.
On April 23, Bill 302 (HB 302) was examined in the second committee of the Senate and adopted during a 4-1 vote.
The legislation, presented in January, erased the New Hampshire House earlier this month during a vote of 192-179. He now faces a vote in the full Senate and, if it is approved, will demand that the governor’s signature becomes the law.
Once adopted, it would allow the New Hampshire Treasury to use 10% of the State’s general funds to invest in the crypto with a market capitalization of more than $ 500 billion – a threshold currently reached by Bitcoin (BTC).

During a debate before the vote of the Chamber in its own right, the Democratic representative Terry Spahr argued that the bill was not necessary.
The legislator said that he could undermine the future security of the state’s digital asset. Spahr argued that the state treasurer already has the power to manage investments without the bill.
Others have said that he could earn good state yields for his investment. Republican representative Jordan Uley said investments could allow the State a “large sum of money”.

Bitcoin Laws, which follows the progress of digital asset legislation, shows that New Hampshire also has two other bills linked to blockchain that go through its legislator.
HB 639 addresses the resolution of litigation and the blockchain regulatory frameworks, while HB 310 focuses on the tokenization of real assets and the use of stables.
New Hampshire’s progress occurs while Arizona continues a more aggressive approach by exploring the creation of a Bitcoin strategic reserve, aimed at becoming the first American state to implement politics.
