US tourist drugged by fake Uber driver and robbed of $123K BTC — Report
An American tourist in the United Kingdom would have been drugged by an individual pretending to be a taxi driver, who stole the $ 123,000 of the Bitcoin tourist stored on a mobile phone.
According to a report by my London, Jacob Irwin-Cline went to a bar in London and took several glasses before calling an Uber to bring him home.
Cline said that he had not carefully checked the details of the Uber ride on his phone and left with a random private taxi driver resembling the Uber driver at first glance, but driving a different vehicle – a detail that a cline would only discover after the incident.
Once inside the vehicle, the American tourist said that the driver had offered him a cigarette, which, according to a cline, was probably elongated with a rare and powerful sedative medication called Scopolamine. Cline added that the cigarette made him feel extremely docile and tired, making him pass for about 30 minutes before regaining consciousness.
Shortly after the Cline woke up, the driver ordered him to get out of the vehicle. As a cline was coming out, the driver suddenly accelerated, striking him with the car and fleeing with his mobile phone, which contained his private keys and his access to his cryptographic accounts.
The unfortunate incident comes in the middle of a recent wave of kidnappings, extortion incidents, armed robbery and ransom attempts aimed at the leaders of the cryptographic industry, investors and their families.

Members of the Crypto community become the target of violent crimes
Several kidnapping incidents involving crypto investors, industry leaders and their families took place in May.
On May 3, the father of an unnamed owner of Crypto Exchange was released by the French police after officials of the application of laws made a descent into the property where the individual was held by organized criminals requiring a ransom for his release.
Shortly after this incident, Pierre Noizat’s daughter and grandson, CEO of Paymium Crypto Exchange, was the target of an attempt to kidnap in Paris.

The incident occurred in broad daylight when the attackers attacked the family and tried to force them in a parked vehicle. However, the daughter of Noizat and another person were able to fight the masked attackers.
The increase in violent attacks on cryptography investors and professionals led to an increase in personal security, including bodyguards and private security measures for those likely to be victims.
