Omri Ross on How eToro Stands Out in the Crypto Exchange Arena

On the opening day of the 2025 edition of Paris Blockchain Week, Beincrypto had the opportunity to interview Omri Ross, chief of the blockchain for Etoro. He revealed that despite the current market condition, the next IPO of the company is still underway.

We have discussed how the company is positioning itself on the Crypto trade market and how it addresses the security issue for its users.

Omri Ross highlights Etoro’s positioning

Etoro has been a very innovative player in this market for many years. All areas around follow and create a social network for trading.

There is the idea that people want to copy each other and be happy to share information on their wallets. I think that the way, for example, that our popular investors work with the community are absolutely fascinating.

I remember, for example, my discussion during some of our customer events; We see that many investors are in contact with people who follow them. There is much less distance. There are many more discussions on the reasons why they follow specific portfolios.

And Etoro also helps this element. Etoro actually creates events where investors and popular customers meet. As a platform, we also have an educational element with the Etoro Academy. We also do podcasts with them. I think it’s really innovative and great.

In terms of products, you know, our CEO has always been very professional. We have a bitcoin trading available at Etoro since 2013, so it is early enough. And for me, it has always been a pleasure to be in a place where you want to push the funds; You want to bring, in a regulated manner, as many products as possible.

You know, customer protection and personal protection, but we also try to see how we can expose our customers to new products and innovations. And I think it’s quite unique, and we are very proud of it.

How many cryptos are negotiating on Etoro at the moment?

We have more than 100 for the moment, with most adults. However, we still do not have as much stablecoins, but it is because we consider ourselves a financial institution. We are looking for the extension and search for means to allow our customers to reach more elements.

We also have an experimental field where you can experiment with more assets that are not necessarily mature enough to be without warning. A great element for us is really how to communicate. On the one hand, we offer many opportunities, but we also try to explore and understand what they are investigating and working in close collaboration with regulators.

The copy exchange the key element of Etoro?

100%. In addition, many customers come to the discussions that appear on Etoro to learn and discuss crypto with other people.

We also have smart wallets where you follow specific trends and facilitate investments for people. For example, we have a DEFI wallet and a Metamask wallet. It is also a very simple way for people to be exposed to a greater kind of industry, which is also very transparent.

Yeah, so I think there is a lot of innovation around that, but it really helps retail trade [investors] Get information and can easily, even in Fiat, invest in a way in all of this.

What category of assets seems to have the most potential of Etoro to develop?

I would speak on two subjects in this regard. The first element is that we are a multi-active platform.

One of the, I think, the greatest advantages of the use of Etoro is your ability to be exposed to many types of different asset classes in one place. You can also have the Etoro Money credit card in some countries that we support. We also note that when our customers use a larger quantity of our products, they really benefit from it. So I think it’s a large part of the element.

I would also mention, in this regard, that many of our investors are sort of perhaps Gen Z. We really see the potential of people to really follow what is happening on the market, where they are really interested in what is happening on the market. Social networks are a large part.

You can follow others that interest you, you can comment on yourself and get involved, as well as the fact that the world is a very interesting place, and things change daily. And to know that you can make crypto at Etoro if it is interesting, but also they are as if they are interested in the prices of oil and gas, or anything else, you have that too. I think that is what is really special, that you can be exposed to a lot, learn more and everything in one place.

Is education the main motivation for how Etoro recruits new customers?

Not necessarily. We mainly see that part of our goal as a business is to open the financial markets for everyone and invest in a simple and transparent place. And for us, education is one of them.

We want to help our customers to find out and in the hope that they choose to stay with us for many years to come. It is therefore a way for us to create many opportunities.

We want to establish a longer -term relationship and help customers prosper. Yeah, how we recruit different people really depends. Part of it is linked to marketing, the notoriety of the brand and to many other aspects.

How Etoro focuses on the safety of the platform

First of all, we work with high -level security experts, including former secret services. Some of them are used by Etoro to manage this element.

Second, especially around the crypto, I cannot expose too much information because some of them are really classified. However, we are working on different safety layers in a customer infrastructure. We try to keep a lot of customer assets in what we describe as a “deep safe” with very secure elements. And it’s a large part of our infrastructure. This is a large part of our discussion.

For any project, we take the fact that customers do us very seriously with the funds. And we feel extremely lucky for that.

Fortunately for us, until today, we have never had a problem with that. But there are a lot of elements around him. When you ask questions about innovation, this is also one of the reasons why this can take a little more time to issue new projects; It is also because we take security very seriously with each element. It is an important part of the design.

Does Etoro use B2B solutions for safety?

We believe that there are good B2B solutions. Again, when we work with suppliers, also according to our size, they generally adapt to our requirements.

We work with certain suppliers who come from security, working in secret services and building really insane secure elements. I learned a lot to work with them and with their history. I would like to be able to tell you more, but for me, as an individual and not as a type of potential employee, I think it’s very interesting.

Because there are also discussions on the element “not your keys, not your money”. But also, having your own money is at your risk. Holding a very large sum of money in a place at home can be ruined or stolen. There are so many risks; You can also have the risk that someone will put a weapon on your head.

There are many social elements. And when I see the work done in the program, I am very proud and impressed by the seriousness that we take on this element. I think that is part of the value we bring. You know, be regulated and also really take the funds and interests of customers seriously.

What is Etoro plans to achieve during the Paris Blockchain week?

I’ve been here for a few years. And it’s so grown up that I’m shocked!

I have been here for less than an hour today, and I say to myself: “Wow!”. And you can really see the adoption here. In addition, French regulations are more in place, which is absolutely incredible.

And being at the Louvre, what can you ask for another? But I would also like to talk to many companies to find out more about innovation. Part of my role is to build new products at Etoro in the crypto. But it is also a question of talking to many founders and suppliers of Cryptos and to see what we can collaborate and integrate in Etoro. And always learn.

I am very passionate about this specific market and blockchain. So I’m really looking forward to being there. I can also catch up with old friends that I haven’t seen for a while.

How can you launch your crypto on Etoro?

You don’t necessarily have to reach out to anyone. We obviously follow the market very closely.

As I mentioned previously, being regulated, we have taken the interests of our customers very seriously. Often our processes can be a little longer than those of certain unregulated blockchain platforms.
