Tesla Recalls 46,000 Cybertrucks, as Company Grapples With Significant Stock Decline

The manufacturing company of electric vehicles belonging to Elon Musk, Tesla, would have made the largest recall of Cybertruck, or more than 46,000 trucks, due to defective exterior garnish panels which could detach by driving, creating a potential risk of road.
This issue affects the models of cyber-camides manufactured between November 2023 and February 2025, according to a file with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA).
According to Tesla, the defective component known as the Cant rail can dim up over time, increasing the risk of accidents.

“The cant rail, an outdoor stainless steel garnish panel, can be diluted and detach from the vehicle. A detached panel can become a risk of road, increasing the risk of an accident ”, Tesla wrote.
The company told NHTSA that it had received around 150 drivers’ complaints on the problem, but was not aware of any accident caused by the problem. The problem is covered by a warranty for new owners, and the company will replace the part for free. Tesla therefore urged owners of vehicles affected to visit its service centers, where the part will be replaced at no cost.
This recall arrives at a turbulent time for Tesla, because the company is struggling with a significant drop in stock. Tesla’s shares have dropped by more than 40% since January, erasing the whole “bump of Trump” which briefly saw the action earn more than 90% after election day. Reacting to a position on X which showed the significant drop in the Tesla action course, Musk replied “It will be long in the long term”.

The reports suggest that the increasingly frank political activities of Musk in the United States have an impact on Tesla’s actions. In particular, its role in the Ministry of Effectiveness of the Government of the Trump Administration (DOGE) sparked a backlash. His controversial positions and actions such as supporting far -right movements in Europe and aligning himself closely with President Trump led to demonstrations, boycotts and a damaged brand reputation among some basic customers in Tesla. In addition, investors are concerned about the divided orientation of Musk, who, according to them, distracted him to meet the operational challenges of Tesla.
Others note that the drop in Tesla’s equity prices occurs while the European company of the Company is faced with increased competition from the Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer byd, which has telegraphy ambitious plans for expansion on the continent. Recall that Byd has exceeded Tesla as the best seller of electric vehicles in the world in 2024 and recently unveiled a rapidly evolving system offering 250 miles of range in five minutes, exceeding the current capabilities of Tesla.
A more decisive blow to the short-term fortune of Tesla can emanate from China itself. There, Tesla’s expeditions plunged 49% in February compared to the previous year at only 30,688 vehicles, according to official data cited by Bloomberg News. This is the lowest monthly figure recorded since July 2022 in the middle of the pangs of COVID-19 when it sent only 28,217 electric vehicles, said Bloomberg.

In China, in particular, Tesla is struggling to compete with national car manufacturers. Last month, Tesla’s expeditions to the country fell 49% from one year to the next. This competitive pressure erodes Tesla’s market share, in particular in key regions such as China and Europe, where Byd and other car manufacturers offer cheaper or technologically competitive objectives
Sales in Europe is also collapsing, in particular in Germany, where consumers were indignant by Musk’s support for a far -right nationalist party with links with the Nazis. Sales dropped 76% in Germany last month compared to the previous year.
The “vast majority” of cybertrucks on American roads is subject to Tesla’s latest vehicle recall, reports CNBC. More than 46,000 of the controversial car manufacturer’s trucks are at risk of an outdoor stainless steel panel standing out during driving, creating potential road risks. Tesla will replace rail assembly with affected vehicles, but the repair must be carried out in person. This is one of the many reminders for Cybertruck, as well as for Tesla, which “represents a large part of the vehicles recalled in the United States”
